Deutsche Windtechnik Establishes Full Service Subsidiary in Sweden

Varberg, Sweden / Bremen, Germany - The new business unit in Sweden was set up in September 2016, and Deutsche Windtechnik AB in Scandinavia has been growing steadily since then. The municipal utility in Varberg, Varberg Energi, commissioned the independent service provider with the maintenance of 30 wind turbines from Vestas (23x V90) and Gamesa (7x G90), with an option for 12 additional turbines.

The service agreements, which are currently limited to ten years, cover complete service for the turbines, including the rotor blades and any necessary replacement of large components. The intention is to extend the contracts to cover 20 years of operation.

"The service partnership with Varberg Energi is an important step for our presence on the Swedish market in the long term. It shows that our full-service approach at all levels also works in Sweden," said Linus Sturesson, Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik AB. Karin Hansson, Business area manager Energy at Varberg Energi AB, emphasized: "Together with our co-owners, we are an industrial partner with high standards. This is true of all of the areas we are active in, including maintenance, occupational safety and asset management. We believe that this will be the start of a long term relationship with Deutsche Windtechnik.
