- EWE ERNEUERBARE ENERGIEN purchases four wind farms from Swiss fund manager InvestInvent

Oldenburg, Zurich (renewablepress) - EWE ERNEUERBARE ENERGIEN GmbH in Oldenburg has expanded its portfolio by four wind farms with a total capacity of 28 megawatts (MW). The facilities stem from a renewable energy fond of InvestInvent AG (Zurich). The wind farms sold are in Hesse (Steinau, 8 MW), North Rhine-Westphalia (Bad Berleburg, 4 MW) and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (Petersdorf, 8 MW). An additional part of the transaction is the Stretense wind farm in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (8 MW), which EWE ERNEUERBARE ENERGIEN took over from InvestInvent in the spring of 2020. All facilities purchased feature Vestas V90 wind turbines and have been in operation since 2009. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the wind farms.

Georg Boie, Managing Director of EWE ERNEUERBARE ENERGIEN, says: “With these newly-purchased wind farms, we are expanding the onshore wind energy portfolio of the EWE Group to a capacity of 390 megawatts.” He adds: “Moreover, we are counting on continued growth, especially through our comprehensive project pipeline, and the planned joint venture with the Aloys Wobben Foundation, which includes the existing parks and projects of ENERCON and EWE.” About the recent transaction Hendrik Stalljann, Technical Director of EWE ERNEUERBARE ENERGIEN, adds: “Because the wind farms are comparatively new and have a proven equipment type, they can make a solid contribution to the energy revolution for several years. We also see good potential for repowering.”
