Renewable Energy Investment Forum to be Held in Nigeria This Year
Abuja, Nigeria - A renewable energy investment forum and exhibition will be held in the capital of Nigeria, Abuja, at the end of 2016.
The two-day forum will be co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
"The investment forum will create awareness about the opportunities, prospects and incentives in the renewable energy sector of Nigeria. It will also help formulate an action plan to promote and support private sector investments in renewable energy development, and expose investors to financing opportunities in the field," said Chuma Ezedinma, officer-in-charge of UNIDO Regional Office in Nigeria.
The forum will feature an exhibition of modern renewable energy products and technologies and serve as a platform for business meetings on ways to finance renewable energy projects in Nigeria.
Habiba Lawal, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, has thanked UNIDO for participating in the organization of the event and for assisting Nigeria in harnessing and channeling the country
