Nordex Receives New Orders from France and Itay

Hamburg, Germany - Nordex will supply the turbines for two new wind farms in France and a further wind farm in Italy.

In France, RWE Renouvelables France, the French subsidiary of Essen-based energy group RWE, has ordered ten N117 turbines for two wind farms with a total capacity of 33 megawatts (MW). Both projects in the north of France are part from the sale of Nordex Group's European wind and solar project development business to RWE in November 2020. Six turbines with a hub height of 76 metres are planned for the 18 MW "Les Hauts Bouleaux" wind farm in the Oise department. The remaining four turbines, which Nordex will supply in an operating mode of 3.675 MW, will be installed with a hub height of 91 metres for the 15 MW "Martinpuich" wind farm in the Pas-de-Calais department. Construction for both projects will start this year, with commissioning of the turbines at both wind farms scheduled for early 2022. The orders also include a premium service contract for the turbines.

The order from Italy comprises the suply of ten N131/3600 turbines projected for a 35 MW wind farm in the region of Basilicata in the south of Italy. The order also includes a service contract for the turbines, initially for two years. The Nordex Group will supply the N131/3600 turbines in the 3.5 MW operating mode with a hub height of 114 metres. The turbines will be delivered and installed in May this year (2021), with the wind farm being due for completion in the late autumn of 2021. Subsequently the turbines will be serviced by Nordex-Service from the nearby Service Point in Policoro. The name of the project and of the customer are undisclosed as per customer’s request.
