Robur Wind and Käufer Start Wind Energy Cooperation in Latin America

Bremen, Germany - The wind energy market in Latin America is developing dynamically. With around 2,300 MW of new wind capacity, Brazil will rank third worldwide behind China and the USA in 2020. The growing importance also makes the Latin American market increasingly lucrative in the service and maintenance sector.

Robur Wind GmbH from Bremen and Gebr. Käufer GmbH Befahrtechnik from Hückeswagen have concluded a cooperation agreement to work together more closely in the future in the areas of sales, service and marketing of Käufer rotor blades and tower access systems. According to the cooperation, the sale or rental of rotor blades and tower access systems from Gebr. Käufer GmbH will now be handled exclusively by Robur Wind in the Latin America region.

The two companies have agreed on this within the framework of an exclusive cooperation contract. In addition, Robur Wind is responsible for service in the sales region and will provide appropriately trained and skilled personnel for this purpose. "Every technician who performs service on Käufer’s access systems has been trained beforehand at the manufacturer's plant in Hückeswagen. This ensures the best service in this region," says David Salas, Technical Development at Robur Wind GmbH. The aim of the cooperation is to further develop the market in Latin America in the maintenance of rotor blades to increase the efficiency of the turbine. In doing so, the companies will combine Robur Wind's long experience in blade repairs with Käufer's innovative rotor blade handling systems.

"We are very pleased to have this exclusive cooperation for the fast-growing wind power in the region. Through our established locations in Uruguay, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile, we are able to offer competent local service and local sales of the access systems“, said Robur Wind CEO Kyriakos Kosmidis. "With a powerful and experienced partner like ROBUR, we can now offer our customers a first-class service in LATAM", adds Käufer CEO Dirk Käufer.
