Vestas Sells Delta Wind Project in The USA

Portland, USA - Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has sold the 183 MW Delta wind farm project. The buyer is US energy company The AES Corporation, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

The wind energy project is developed by Steelhead Americas, the North American development arm of Vestas. The Delta project in the US state of Mississippi is the first wind project in the state, Vestas stated.

Steelhead Americas developed the wind project from the ground up and led all development efforts, including permitting, land acquisition and construction planning, to deliver a project to the customer that is now ready for construction.

The Delta project strengthens Vestas' project development capabilities and further expands its newest business unit, it said. Through such development activities, Vestas aims to enable the future growth of renewable energy assets in North America. Already, the company has more than 3 GW of renewable energy projects in the pipeline.

Through development and co-development activities, Steelhead Americas has helped or assisted Vestas in securing over 3,350 MW of North American turbine orders since its inception in 2016.
