Volume Over 1 Billion Euros: Qualitas Energy Reaches First Close of Fifth Flagship Fund

Berlin, Germamy - Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on investments in renewable energy, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure, has reached first close of its flagship fund QE V at more than €1.1 billion.

This makes QE V one of the largest renewable energy funds in Europe. According to Qualitas Energy, the target volume is 1.6 billion euros.

QE V will focus primarily on investments in Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Italy and Poland. Investments are planned in renewable energy generation plants that are already in operation or under development, including plants with repowering potential. The agenda also includes infrastructure projects such as batteries and other projects that drive the energy transition.

As an example of this investment strategy, Qualitas Energy Germany cites the acquisition of a majority stake in the UK-based bioenergy specialist Acorn. The use of biomethane is particularly crucial in " hard-to-abate” sectors in the quest towards a global net zero economy and energy independence, says Qualitas Energy.

"Following the success of our predecessor funds, we are excited for our new flagship fund to have hit its first close. We have a robust pipeline of attractive opportunities, a team with unparalleled industry experience and we are particularly humbled and honoured by the strong continued support from existing investors," said Iñigo Olaguibel, Founding Partner & CEO of Qualitas Energy.
