Dresden/Baranów-Rychtal (renewablepress) - The VSB Group, a leading renewable energy company, announces the successful commissioning and full operation of the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm in Poland. With an installed capacity of 42.6 megawatts (MW), the eleven wind turbines generate enough green energy per year to power approximately 36,000 households.

Poland has set itself ambitious renewable energy targets: the country aims to meet more than half of its energy needs without emissions by 2040. The Baranów-Rychtal wind farm, developed by VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska, the Polish subsidiary of the VSB Group, contributes to this energy transition and serves as a positive signal for the environment and the region.

With a total capacity of 42.6 MW, the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm, consisting of ten Nordex N131/3.9 turbines and one Nordex N117/3.6 turbine, instantly generates green electricity and feeds it into the grid of Grupa Energa, one of the largest distribution grid operators in Poland. The output of the wind farm can supply around 36,000 households with renewable energy. This avoids CO2 emissions of almost 45,000 tonnes per year compared to fossil fuels.

“The commissioning of the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm is an important step in the development of renewable energy in Poland. We are very proud to contribute to this change with the successful work of our great team in Poland,” says Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.

Hubert Kowalski, Managing Director of VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska, adds: “Our sincere thanks go to our valued partners, contractors, the supportive local community and the authorities of Baranów and Rychtal Municipalities, K?pi?ski County and Urz?d Regulacji Energetyki (URE). Their unwavering support and cooperation have been crucial to the successful development and operation of this wind farm.”

The construction permit for the Baranów-Rychtal wind farm was granted at the end of 2019 and it was then successful in the 2020 renewable energy auction.
