Market Position Underpinned: Nordex Secures Order For 56 MW in Turkey

Hamburg, Germany - Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has received a further order from Turkey and sees this as strengthening the company's market leadership in Turkey.

Turkish company VRES Enerji, which is specialized in the contracting, installation and operation of renewable energy systems, has awarded the German turbine manufacturer a contract to supply eight N163/6.X wind turbines for the 56 MW extension of the Kartal wind farm in the province of Eskisehir in the northwest of the country. Construction of the turbines is scheduled for mid-2024. The contract also includes a ten-year premium service agreement.

"We are grateful for our customers’ continued trust in our technology and our experienced team. The Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has recently announced 25 GW pre-license capacity for the next 10-year-period for renewable projects with storage, and we aim to build on our strong position in Türkiye”, said Nordex Vice President for Türkiye & Middle East Ender Ozatay.

Nordex secured orders totaling 101 MW of capacity in Turkey in the second quarter of 2023. To date, the company has installed 3,571 MW in Turkey, with another 889 MW under construction.

After gaining 3 percent to EUR 11.49 by midday yesterday, Nordex's RENIXX stock fell again in the afternoon, closing at EUR 11.24. In today's trading, the stock lost 2.1 percent to EUR 11.0 by midday (12:00, 07.07.2023, Stuttgart Stock Exchange).
