Wind Market India: Suzlon Receives Major Orders For 400 MW From Juniper Green Energy

Pune, India - Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon has received two further large orders totalling 402 MW from Indian power producer and operator of solar, wind and hybrid power projects Juniper Green Energy Private Limited.

Suzlon will install a total of 134 wind turbines with a rated capacity of 3 MW each for two projects at the planned Fatehgarh site in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines and execute the project including foundation, erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also be responsible for comprehensive operation and maintenance services after commissioning.

Suzlon has already received several orders from Juniper Green Energy. In March, Suzlon announced an order for the supply of 23 wind turbines with a capacity of 3.15 MW each.

The state of wind energy utilisation in India

India's path to renewable energies is gaining momentum. According to the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), wind turbines with a capacity of around 275 MW were added in April 2024. The Ministry puts the cumulative installed wind energy capacity in India as of 30 April 2024 at around 46,160 MJW (46.16 GW).
