Renewable Energies in France: VSB Signs Five Electricity Supply Contracts With French Carrefour

Dresden, Germany - VSB Group, developer and operator of wind and solar parks, announces the signing of five long-term electricity supply contracts between VSB France and Carrefour.

Carrefour is a French international retail and wholesale company. The agreement covers five wind and solar parks totalling 43.3 MW of installed capacity: Eoliennes de Guéhenno (Brittany) and Eoliennes de Fadoumal (Occitania), Soleil de Gaujac (Occitania), Soleil d'Izernore (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and Soleil de Balsac (Occitania).

The parks will supply 26 hypermarkets a year with energy from renewable sources, enabling the Carrefour Group to cover its energy consumption with renewable energy and reduce its emissions.

"The long-term collaboration between VSB France and Carrefour, one of the leading companies in the French retail sector, is a decisive step in promoting the use of renewable energy while creating economic value," explains Dr Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.

The agreement emphasises that long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energies are an attractive solution for companies to consistently achieve their sustainability goals, says Grolman.
