Nordex 6 MW Class: Nordex Group receives 48 MW wind turbine order from Austria

Hamburg (Germany) - The Nordex Group has received another order from a utility company in Austria. Kelag-Kärntner Elektrizitäts Aktiengesellschaft has ordered Nordex wind turbines for the 47.6 MW Lavamünd wind farm. Nordex will supply and install seven wind turbines from the 6 MW class (type N163/6.X). In addition, a premium service contract for 25 years has been signed to ensure long-term and reliable maintenance of the turbines.

The wind farm site is located in southern Austria, in the border region between Carinthia, Styria, and Slovenia, on a forested ridge at elevations between 1,240 and 1,430 meters.

Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025. The project will be built in phases, with turbine installation and commissioning planned for 2027.

The N163 turbines will be installed with two different hub heights: four turbines will be mounted on 118-meter steel tube towers, while the remaining three will be installed on hybrid towers with a hub height of 164 meters.
