W Power Storage Strengthens Management: W Power Storage Appoints Dr. Martin Siddiqui as CEO to Scale the Battery Storage Platform

Heidelberg (Germany) - W Power Storage GmbH has appointed Dr. Martin Siddiqui as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With Siddiqui, the company aims to drive the next growth phase of its multi-gigawatt battery storage platform. The existing co-founders will retain their roles: Christian Dornisch as Chief Investment Officer, Tim Rosar as Chief Operating Officer, and Christian Jochemich as Chief Growth Officer.

Dr. Martin Siddiqui was previously co-founder and CEO of Tion Renewables and brings extensive experience in scaling energy platforms. About his new role, he said: “One of the most exciting entrepreneurial opportunities in Germany’s energy sector” and added that he was “deeply impressed by the strength of the pipeline and the team’s dedication, ambition, and winning mentality.”

Frank Heiss, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, emphasized: "We didn’t bring Martin on board to manage the status quo, but to scale what was built with speed, discipline, and ambition. He combines entrepreneurial instinct with a deep understanding of how complex energy platforms grow into category-leading businesses.” Markus Wirth, also a member of the Supervisory Board, added: “Martin’s strengths are a natural complement to the existing C-level team and significantly enhance our collective ability to further expand our pipeline while simultaneously building a scalable platform that moves decisively from development to execution.”

W Power Storage recently entered into a strategic partnership with the ICG European Infrastructure Team. The partnership aims to invest up to €500 million in realizing the battery energy storage system (BESS) project pipeline.

With access to long-term capital and a strengthened management team, W Power Storage sees significant tailwinds for the next growth phase and aims to become a leading independent flexibility provider in Germany.
