Enercon Strengthens Position in Turkish Wind Market with Local Production

Ankara – Turkey is increasingly focusing on local value creation in the expansion of wind energy. Wind turbine manufacturer Enercon, active in the Turkish market since 1998 with more than 4 GW of installed capacity in the country, is therefore further expanding its local production structures.

Together with partners ATEŞ Wind Power and ATEŞ Celik, Enercon will in future manufacture generators and hybrid steel towers in Turkey for its new onshore flagship turbine, the E-175 EP5 E2. This will enable the company to participate in Turkish wind energy auctions with local content requirements while also strengthening supply chains for projects in Turkey and Europe.

Generator production at ATEŞ Wind Power in Bergama, Izmir Province, is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is expected to create around 300 jobs. Production of hybrid steel tower components will be carried out at ATEŞ Celik’s facility in Bandirma, Balikesir Province.

The E-175 EP5 E2, featuring a rated capacity of 7 MW and a rotor diameter of 175 metres, is Enercon’s new onshore flagship turbine. For the Turkish market, the company has already secured supply agreements totalling more than 300 MW.
