Nordex Secures 112 MW Order in Germany and Advances 392 MW Wind Project in Romania
Hamburg Germany – The Nordex Group has received a new order for a wind energy project in Germany and is simultaneously advancing the implementation of a large-scale project in Romania.
Germany: 112 MW Altmark Repowering Project Planned
The Altmark wind farm is being developed between Salzwedel and Stendal and is one of the more significant repowering projects in the region. Nordex will supply N175/6.X turbines with a hub height of 179 metres. The order from NeXtWind also includes a 20-year premium service agreement.
Installation of the turbines is scheduled to begin in November 2027, with commissioning planned for spring 2028. The project will modernise and further develop an existing wind energy site with more powerful turbines.
“With the N175/6.X and a hub height of 179 metres, we are implementing a major project for NeXtWind in Saxony-Anhalt and making a measurable contribution to Germany’s energy transition,” said Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central at the Nordex Group.
Romania: Turbine Production Starts for 392 MW Pestera II Wind Farm
At the Pestera II wind farm in Romania, Nordex has reached another implementation milestone. Following order intake in the fourth quarter of 2025, turbine production has started. In parallel, long-lead components, including anchor cages, have already been awarded to secure the further project schedule.
The wind farm is being developed in the Dobrogea region in southeastern Romania near Constanța and comprises 56 N163/6.X wind turbines with an output of 7 MW each. The turbines will be installed on 138-metre-high steel towers.
According to the company, construction work is progressing as planned. Foundation works are expected to begin in the coming months, with commissioning of the project scheduled for 2028.
