German Wind Market: UKA Orders 100 Turbines with Around 700 MW from Nordex Group – Nordex Shares Slip Nonetheless

Hamburg – Wind energy expansion in Germany is gaining further momentum following EEG auction awards in recent tender rounds. In late June, Nordex Group received orders worth around 700 MW from German project developer UKA, extending its long-standing partnership with the Meissen-based company.

The orders comprise 100 wind turbines of the N175/6.X and N163/6.X types, each rated at 7 MW, for several projects across multiple German states. In addition to turbine supply, the contracts include multi-year service and maintenance agreements intended to ensure long-term, reliable and efficient operation of the wind farms.

Order Volume and Turbine Technology

The ordered N175/6.X and N163/6.X turbine types belong to Nordex's Delta4000 platform and, in the configuration ordered here, each have a rated capacity of 7 MW. The figures in the model designation refer to rotor diameter (175 and 163 meters, respectively); the N175/6.X is positioned by Nordex as a specialized turbine for low-wind-speed sites and, according to the company, delivers a yield increase of seven to 14 percent over its sister models.

UKA and Nordex: A Long-Standing Partnership

UKA (Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen GmbH & Co. KG), headquartered in Meissen, is an owner-managed energy park developer founded in 1999 that plans, builds, operates and sells wind and photovoltaic parks as well as battery storage systems, and ranks among Germany's leading renewable energy project developers. The current orders are linked to UKA's EEG tender successes in the August 2025 and February 2026 rounds held by the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), which are feeding the project pipeline now being realized.

The latest orders form part of UKA's stated goal of eventually installing 1 GW of wind energy capacity within a single calendar year. According to the company, the group's project pipeline in its home market currently includes 1.6 GW of onshore wind energy already under construction.

"With these orders, we are consistently continuing the implementation of our strong project pipeline. The successful awards in the August 2025 and February 2026 renewable energy auction rounds provide the basis for this next major tranche. UKA is clearly on track to install 1 gigawatt of wind energy capacity in a single calendar year - and these orders are further decisive steps along this path," said Gernot Gauglitz, CEO of UKA Group.

"We are very pleased about these renewed orders from our long-standing partner UKA. With these contracts for 100 wind turbines and a total capacity of around 700 megawatts, we are underlining the strength of our long-term business relationship. UKA is one of our most important and reliable partners, and we are proud that our proven Delta4000 turbines will make a significant contribution to the implementation of UKA’s ambitious expansion targets," said Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central at Nordex Group.

Nordex Share Price Declines
