PNE Sells Ready-to-Build "Romescamps" Wind Farm Project in France to JPEE

Cuxhaven — PNE Group has completed the sale of its "Romescamps" wind farm project in France to French green power producer JP Energie Environnement (JPEE), marking the second project transaction between the two companies. Alongside project sales, PNE is also building up its own operating portfolio in France.

France is one of PNE's core markets. The "Romescamps" sale is part of a series of similar transactions this year in which PNE has sold high-quality projects offering attractive returns. According to the company, further projects in France are already in advanced development and sales stages.

Ready-to-Build Status: Technical Optimization Boosts Energy Yield

The "Romescamps" wind farm is located in the Hauts-de-France region in northern France and comprises three wind turbines with combined capacity of 10.8 MW. The project emerged from France's 10th onshore wind tender round, in which PNE secured an award together with the "Chéry" wind farm. PNE France subsequently brought the project to Ready-to-Build status — meaning it was fully permitted and ready for construction — while optimizing the hub heights of the three wind turbines to access better wind conditions and increase the project's expected energy yield. Under a Project Development Agreement, PNE France will continue supporting the buyer through selected development steps following closing. This is the second project PNE has sold to JPEE in France. PNE was advised on the transaction by Alaïa Advisory.

JPEE: Independent Green Power Producer from Normandy

Buyer JP Energie Environnement (JPEE), based in Saint-Contest near Caen, is a family-run renewable energy producer founded in 2004. The company develops, finances, builds and operates wind and solar farms in France. Since 2023, state development bank Banque des Territoires has held a 34 percent stake in JPEE. The "Romescamps" sale continues an existing partnership: PNE previously sold the 14.4 MW "Clermont-en-Argonne" wind farm in the Grand Est region to JPEE on October 23, 2025.

Development Over Operation: PNE's Strategy in a Growing Market

"The sale of ‘Romescamps’ once again confirms the high quality of our project development activities in France. At the same time, the transaction demonstrates the consistent implementation of our strategy. We are focusing on our core markets and selectively developing high-quality projects with attractive returns. Together with our partners, we are making an important contribution to the expansion of renewable energy," said Roland Stanze, COO of PNE AG.

The sale is part of a series of similar transactions this year: in 2026, PNE has already sold the 43.2 MW "Bokel" wind farm in Germany, a 72 MW wind farm project in Poland, and a roughly 40 MW photovoltaic project in Poland. France remains one of PNE's core markets, and according to the company, further projects there are already in advanced development and sales stages.

Renewable Energy in France

As of the end of December 2025, French transmission system operator RTE (Réseau de Transport d'Électricité) reported around 25,800 MW of installed wind capacity in France — approximately 23,900 MW onshore and 1,900 MW offshore — alongside around 30,400 MW of installed solar capacity. Solar capacity has for the first time exceeded installed hydropower capacity of around 25,700 MW. Installed bioenergy capacity stands at around 2,300 MW.

Based on an IWR analysis of data from European transmission system operators ENTSO-E, wind power generation in France reached approximately 48.5 billion kWh in 2025, up 6.8 percent from 45.4 billion kWh in 2024. Solar power generation rose considerably more sharply, climbing 30.7 percent to 30.2 billion kWh from 23.1 billion kWh the previous year. The strong growth in solar capacity is already requiring nuclear power plants to curtail and flexibly adjust their output during periods of high solar feed-in.
