Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa to Become Omterra – Energy Technology Group Unveils New Corporate Brand

Munich — Six years after its spin-off from Siemens AG, Siemens Energy is preparing to open a new chapter. The energy technology group is getting ready to launch its own standalone corporate brand. The names Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa will be phased out of the market and replaced by a new brand: Omterra.

The move ends the company's use of the Siemens Energy name, which had been licensed on a time-limited basis. The rebranding is set to begin within the current calendar year and will be rolled out in stages. According to the company, its strategy, business model, and relationships with customers and business partners will remain unaffected by the change.

Brand License Set to Expire, Paving Way for Independent Identity

Siemens Energy has used its name under a time-limited licensing agreement with Siemens AG since its stock market listing in 2020. According to the company, the time has now come to put its brand identity on an independent footing as well. Siemens Energy pointed to its successful strategic, operational and financial development in recent years, along with the trust it has built with customers and capital markets.

"Since our IPO, it was clear that we would have access to the licensed Siemens Energy brand for a limited period. Today, our company is strategically, operationally and financially well positioned. We have earned the trust of our customers and the capital markets, improved our profitability and have ambitious growth plans for the coming years. Against this backdrop, and since the current brand agreement is time-limited, now is the right moment to begin the transition to our own brand," said Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy.

Omterra to Bring Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Under One Brand

According to the company, the new brand name Omterra reflects the group's global footprint, its technological expertise, and its ambition to contribute to reliable energy supply worldwide. Under the rebranding, the existing Siemens Energy business and the Siemens Gamesa wind energy division will be brought together under a single corporate brand. The transition will take place in stages.

Siemens Energy is one of the world's leading energy technology providers, with revenue of EUR 39.1 billion in fiscal year 2025 and around 105,000 employees. Its portfolio spans technologies for power generation, transmission and storage, as well as solutions for both conventional and renewable energy, ranging from gas and steam turbines to transformers, grid technology, and wind and hydrogen technologies.
