Turkish Wind Market Gains Momentum: Nordex Group Secures Major Order from Türkerler Holding

Hamburg — The Nordex Group has received another order for the supply and installation of wind turbines in Turkey. According to Nordex, Turkey was already one of the company's strongest individual markets in the first half of the year, alongside Germany and the United States.

Turkey's wind market recorded record capacity additions in 2025: according to the Turkish Wind Energy Association (TÜREB), the country's installed wind capacity rose by around 2,141 MW last year to reach 15,934 MW. TÜREB Chairman Ibrahim Erden said the government is planning annual additions of 2,000 to 2,500 MW through 2035.

525 MW Order for YEKA Project in Sivas

The client behind the latest major order is diversified group Türkerler Holding, which has ordered 72 turbines of the N175/6.X type. The units, with a combined capacity of around 525 MW, are intended for the "YEKA-5 R25 Sivas" wind project in the central Anatolian province of Sivas. The Delta4000-series turbines will be installed with a hub height of 108 meters, with installation of the first turbine scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027. The order also includes a ten-year premium service agreement with an option to extend to up to 25 years. It follows a series of other orders in Turkey that Nordex has reported so far this year, including 78 MW in January and 110 MW in May. Nordex says it holds a 34 percent market share in the Turkish wind energy market.

Türkerler Holding: Diversified Group and Repeat Nordex Customer

Türkerler Holding, active in construction, energy, healthcare, real estate development, renewable energy, power distribution and trading, public-private partnership projects, and textiles, is a repeat customer of the wind turbine manufacturer, according to Nordex.

"We are delighted to support Türkerler Holding’s ambitious growth in renewable energy," said Ender Özatay, Vice President Region Türkiye and Mid East at Nordex Group. "Following our success in earlier YEKA projects, this order once again demonstrates the competitiveness of our N175/6.X technology, our strong local supply chain, and the confidence customers place in our team and technology."

Turkey Targets 120,000 MW Expansion by 2035

Turkey's combined wind and solar capacity now stands at more than 40,000 MW, according to TÜREB Chairman Erden, with a national target of expanding wind and solar capacity to 120,000 MW by 2035. In terms of installed wind capacity, the Marmara region led at the end of 2025 with 6,968 MW, ahead of the Aegean region (4,495 MW) and Central Anatolia (1,733 MW); among provinces, Izmir topped the list with 2,307 MW, followed by Çanakkale (1,556 MW) and Balıkesir (1,552 MW). Erden described the 120,000 MW target as the "clearest benchmark" for the industry's future pace of investment. Expansion is also expected to be accelerated by the "Super Permit" regulation in effect since July 24, 2025, which TÜREB says is designed to shorten permitting procedures for renewable energy projects from up to 48 months to around 18 months.
